ok.. I have a few problems I dont know where to start with.. first off..
Its A
91 vr4
115k miles
new plugs/wires
1. it idles at 1500 rpms.. (thinking boost/vac leak)
2. When I drive it normal.. sometimes.. (about 50% of the time) it will go fine then the motor will loose power.. if I floor it it will run weird still but it wont feel like its just dieing.. (thinking fuel filter?) Its like if you are driving and turn the key off and then turn it back on.. it does it over and over again..
3. When i start boosting there is a high pitch squel... it is comming from inside the dash area driver side.. I thought boost leak to the clutch booster?? but then I thought about it and I think there is a 1 way valve so it wont let boost that far down the line..
Any ideas??

The squal sounds like what you said, its the boost leaking somehwere. My 3000's werent vr4s but ive been a mitsubishi mechanic for 3 yrs now, and your power loss and rough running sounds like your fuel system, also on the first gen vr's the ecu is know to cause problems with the fuel system

I also work for the mitsu dealership.. (parts) .. about the ECU are you talking about the leaking caps?? or just problems with the fuel delivery? Doesn't the clutch booster have a one way valve alowing only vacume and not pressure? the sound is not in the engine compartment.. its inside the passanger area..
