2000 Alero - SVS, ABS & Trac off lights on

First, the "Service Vehicle Soon" light came on about a year ago, I took it to autozone and they hooked up the computer and said the code was due to the "Pressurized fuel system" and that I needed a new gas cap. Well, I bought a gas cap and they reset the light, but it came back on the next day. The car runs fine so I just lived with the light on. Could it be the oxygen sensors causing the problem? Anyway, now the "Trac Off" & "ABS" lights are coming on as soon as I start driving the car. Looking in the older threads I assume I need to change the wheel hubs out, question is how hard is this to do? Can I do it myself or do I need to take it to a mechanic? I can get a pair of hubs on Ebay for $139, the local mechanics want $200 per side just for the parts! What a markup. Can someone give me details about changing the hubs? Thanks.

To start the SVS and SES light are two different warning indicators. Service Vehicle Soon has nothing to do with the odb-ii emissions related DTCs but the Service Engine Soon SES light does. Best to post the specific DTC your are getting and clarify which MIL warning light is on.

SVS light can be caused by bad hub wheel sensors, lighting to include DRL or even a burnt out lamp.

We have some old threads on replacing the hubs DIY so do a search.

And welcome to AF.
