creaky floor

I've noticed that when I hit a bump in the road the floor under my left feet creaks (Don't know if this is the right word for it). Also the steering wheel is shaking a bit when turning right or left. Maybe this are different problems. Does anybody have an idea.

The shaking during turns could be related to the CV joints in the front axle. I am not quite sure what you mean by "creaking" though.

Get under your vehicle if possible or have your mechanic take a look around. Check all underside components for signs of stress or cracks. One of my Ventures had similar noises as you describe and after a year or so it was discovered there was a crack in the frame underneath the driver's side. It was discovered during our state's annual safety inspection, and my friend who did the inspection told me that he's seen many vehicles with similar problems in our area. It can be caused by a combination of heavy road salt usage coupled with thinner metal being used in today's vehicles. Add to that the design of certain vehicles acerbates the issue. Also if you travel roads frequently that are excessively bumpy or pot holed filled, or cross rough railroad tracks, that can add stress to the underbody components leading to cracking and stress fractures.

thanks.

I know someone with a lift, so I can check those two things. Now I know where to look for.

I''ve noticed some kind of knocking sound under the car when driving over a larger bump.
