98 Ford Explorer 2 door

Hey i am looking into buying a 1998 Ford explorer two door and looking for some guidance. The explorer has 180,000 miles on and it just got a new transmistion(sp)... I was wondering what everyone thought about buying an explorer with that many miles on it??? Do they typically have problems? Will it last me 1000 miles or another 50,000 miles. I know the owner of the car and it was well kept and all. The only reason they are gettin rid of it is because they travel a lot and need something better on gas. I would be gettin this car for bout 1500 below KBB price. Should i go ahead and get this??? thanks for any advice and help in advance.

i have 1998 explorer sport 2 door bought it with a 190000 miles on it drove fine never had a problem out of it about 210000 miles blew a head gasket replaced the head gasket and havent had a problem since it now has 260000 miles
