Sons 92 Grand Prix may sit for a week and start right up. Go out the next morning and battery is so dead the lights wont even come on. Jump it, and will usually run fine for days.

After months of putting a clamp on amp meter on it we cought it today drawing 1.2 amps. Found the circuit on the the square bottom right hand 30amp fuse, in the under hood passenger side fuse box still energized.

Does anyone know what this fuse controls? Dont have the owners manual and all chiltons told me was that your fuse boxes are here and here and here.

Waiting on the battery to charge to go out and start it without the fuse and see what doesnt work. All I know to do at this point.

does the dome light work? I know on these older w-body gm vehicles that the dome light is controlled by the dimmer switch. push it all the way to the top and the dome light would come on. This used to drain the battery in my 1990 lumina. Dad would inadvertantly leave the dome light on overnight and i would come out to a dead battery. Might want to check out the operation of this switch.

Why not do it the easy way? Pull the fuse out and find out what doesnt work? then you will know what circuits this fuse feeds power too. If you still need a fuse box diagram, send me a private message and I will try to help you out.

Good luck

I think a brand new battery would run the dome all night and still have signs of life left the next day. This thing was grave yard dead. No lights, no dings, no nothing. This last time the battery was down to 1.4 volts. All along with how dead the battery is I knew it has to be a serious drain like some kind of motor. But we couldnt find a fan or hear the fuel pump running. And in the past once you jump it it works fine for several days.

Well we tried it without the fuse and car just cranks wont fire at all.

Maybe the fuel pump relay is sticking. I checked the other fuse box and dont see the relay for the feul pump. Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is on a 92 grand prix?
