Potential Boost or Fuel problem

Well today I was driving down the road and all of a sudden as soon as my car hits boost the car just bogs down. It feels like a fuel cut. I really dont know what it is though. The car has been driving just fine. I really wish I could explain it better. Any ideas anyone?

Can you capture a log of when it happens? Checked your turbo for shaft play lately? What about leaks?

Unfortunatly I dont have a logger yet...I have a small oil leak out of the oil pan but thats it as far as leaks go....I havent done a boost leak test yet...I am going to do that tonight....There are also no CEL's.

sounds like plug gapping could be a problem

Maybe running way too rich? I had this problem and the car would spit and sputter in the upper rpms with boost, and lots of black smoke. Leaned it out and it was good to go. Of course, check for boost leaks that will cause u to run rich.

:1: boost leak probably, since your car runs good until you hit full boost...

its not when it hits full boost...it happens when I hit any boost....so I cant really go over like 3k rpms....or if i do I have to get there really slowly...

sounds like a huge boost leak! unless you didn't plug in your MAFT sensor...:nono:
EDIT: my car runs about how you are saying when i blow off an inter cooler pipe, so that would be the first place i would check... :2cents:

when I blow off a pipe my car just dies unless i hammer the gas and keep the rpms up

Whenever I have blown off an intercooler pipe it wouldnt idle right. It would be real jumpy. Right now the car idles fine, drives fine until the boost kicks in.

I'm having a similar problem...gauge reads full boost but the car struggles to hit 60mph (checked for boost leaks 3 seperate times) and the RPM's seem to just crawl. I was told I was putting out quite a bit of black smoke. Could it have slipped out of timing and caused these symptoms?

A smaller boost leak would give you the symptoms you describe.
I installed an LICP on my old GST and had the exact same problem you describe. Come to find out I had a minor boostleak where my pipes hooked up to the intercooler.

I don't think its fuel cut because when you get that it feels like you hit a brick wall. I would bet money you have a boost leak issue. I would check again for leaks if I were you. Make sure that when you check you are checking once with the throttle body closed and once with it open.
