Just check for rust top to bottom. Test drive it for a weekend if he will let you. It may be a good car.

how many miles? you have any pics? i'd definately have a mechanic check it out first before you purchase it. if it's in good running shape then $2k sounds like a steal. g'luck with it.

Its difficult to give advice like this. It sounds like a good deal to me, but then again we do not know the whole history of the car. My B cam Fox sounded good, but I really did not like the car. To tell you the truth I do not like Fox bodies, chassis I mean.

when he first got the car he took engine and tranny out and used it for a drag racing car. for about a year he then parked it in his garage and just recently as in a month took the original tranny and engine and rebuilt them and added a little mods here and there he's known around town for his mustangs thats all his does for a living is buy fix and sell some what performance mustangs he will let me test drive for the weekend and said i wont have any mechanical problems with it. hes a pretty trust worthy guy so i think im going to go for it i dont have pics yet but ill get some soon untill then take it easy.

You said he rebuilt the engine, meaning rebore and new internals? If its in good shape, and the engine is rebuilt that is a damn good price.

trust worthy guy= ask him if you can pay him a fair price to fix it if it breaks down from time to time. any car has problems from time to time. it will be great to have a mustang specialist to work on it.

Sounds like a good deal, I'm sure there might be some work needed along the way.
If you have a good mechanic, you are getting a steal.
Are you using it as a daily driver or weekend car ?
