Shifting and AC..

My Lumina shifts great when the AC is not on, but when I turn on the AC it shifts late and hard.

Why?

More load on the motor, it has to wind out a little higher to give you the same acceleration. They all do it, pretty typical. If it's real bad, the engine might have a lack of power that needs to be adressed...
