I just had to put my 7 year old dog down due to cancer today.
January 2000 - June 2007

That was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
Period.
http://smiliesftw.com/x/waveywtc.gif (http://smiliesftw.com)Bye Annie. http://smiliesftw.com/x/waveywtc.gif (http://smiliesftw.com)
So, just wanted to share because I might be gone offline for a few days. Maybe, depends on how I cope. Didn't expect it to be so hard.
Later guys.

Sorry to hear that. It really sucks to have to put a pet down. I remember my last dog had to be put down when I was 14 and she was 14 as well. I was only a few months older than her and had grown up with her for as long as I could remember.

Sorry to hear that. I had a cat for 17 years, and watched it being put to sleep in front of me. Don't think i've cried like that ever.
It's amazing how attached people can get to animals.

I cried more when my cat was put to sleep then when my fiancé broke off our engagement. I still get a little upset whenever I see my pic of her. *sigh*. Take your time man, we aint going anywhere.

i lost my dog when i was 11 and another when i was 18
both german shephards. i had to have my dad put him down, i couldnt do it...i couldnt even go to the vet
i'm now in the stage of getting ready to by another dog. a buddy of mine in the 3000gt section introduced me to the rhodesian ridgeback, and i'm kinda stuck on that dog.
i'll be getting a puppy in a few months

ah, thanks guys. I'm better now, I feel fine, still upset but that's to be expected when you hold your bestfriend as they slip away into nothing.
I cried like a baby when I got home, held it together just long enough. Funny how that works... get so attached to some random animal. When my Grandpa passed away from Cancer I was sad, but didn't cry. My dog Annie... man, I went from zero to wussy cry baby in like 5 seconds.
haha... strange thing.
Thanks guys.

i feel bad for ya man. my gramps and gandma passed from cancer from smoking, i diddnt cry or anything. diddnt really know them to tell the truth.
i say that i dont really care about the dog in my house, as he gets annoying after awhile, but idk how that is all going to change. i dont really want to know yet either.
you can always get another one, same breed and everything, but change the name and get a different color. you'll know how to raise em, and what works and what doesnt work. but it wont be the same.

I feel for you, thats one of the hardest things to go through for some odd reason. On a lighter note what kind of dog was she? I am getting a puppy in a week or so that, when in adult form, will look dead on like Annie does in that picture.

My best friend was put to sleep in april, just 2 weeks shy of her 13th birthday. She had arthritis and kidney failure. The night prior she had weakly crawled onto my lap and stared at me as if to say she was ready, the next morning I had carried her to the vet and she was put to sleep. I still cry when someone mentions her in my house and so does my other little dog.

My family lost our dog, Luke, earlier this year. It was sad. We found him by the river with a broken neck. We had to carry him back home, and we laid him down. It made it really hard to look him in the eye while he was in pain. He passed on later that night. He was with our family since 1988. Almost 20 years old.
It was almost like losing a close family member. No dog could ever replace one like him. Still makes me sad to think about him.
Glad to see you're coping with things Matty. I'm going to miss Annie as well. :(

Hahaha... you're such a sick fuck.
But thanks Joshy... hahaha. :iceslolan
To cope with things, I came home early from work and I took out my other dog who is really depressed. Took him to the doggie park, which he didn't enjoy. I guess he's not used to masses of dogs just gang banging him to sniff his ass. I can understand, I'd feel the same way if the majority of people trying to sniff my soft serve machine were mostly guys.
So we decided to ditch that sausage fest and go to a real park, where the hot chicks are. Booyah.
Now we're kickin back enjoying a cold one...

Sorry for your loss...
I've never had an animal long enough to see it pass away. They usually make it to the humane society or they might go on a long drive one night and never make it home. I do have a dog now and I have had her for a year and a half now. Her name is Tahki and she is a doberman and I tell you what she might be in her cage right now because I'm lazy , but I love that dog to death and I dont even want to think about her not being around.
Wait, what is this salty discharge coming from my eyes. See its to late. I just got teary eyed thinking about it.
True story, not for the animal lover.... I had a cat once and when my daughter was born the cat had to go. I drove this cat at least 50 miles from my house before I let her go in some random neighborhood in the next town over. This cat made it back to the house like 3 months later. I swear I almost lost it. This cat looked like it came straight out of Pet Cemetary or something.
The best part was my neighbor was like "isnt that your cat" I said "nope not mine" and my neighbor took it in. I didnt even have to go through all that I should of just asked around if any one needed a cat.
Dunno....

haha... so wrong.
But... the idea crossed my mind. :uhoh:
But we're having her remains cremated and we'll spread her out in the backyard. I might keep a bit of her in a small box...

I've lost so many pets, and not from bad care, my pets were really curious and mischievous. One guinea pig was crawling on the ground and bit a tv wire, still disturbs me. Then one of my earlier dogs fought one of the cats to death...this cat was new to the family, just had babies, was a stray that we took in, and my dog we had for a while went by instinct and fought it but mostly got along with our family cats. Most died from old age.

I had my dog cremated as well and we put her ashes in the park where she used to always love to run around at.

I always had bad luck with pets. My first dog was hit by a car the day of a band receital. Not the worst timing or anything, but set precedent. My second dog got cancer the year my parent's house flooded. They took it to be put to sleep on November 14th and they told me it wasn't going to be put to sleep until the 15th (my birthday is the 14th). A few years later they told me they lied. Then I ran over my cat on July 4th (was lying underneath my car, I put it in reverse and it tried to run out but was too slow) and I broke its back, so I shot it in the head. Finally 2 weeks before I started college, my last dog died of pneumonia on Christmas morning.
So I haven't had any pets for a while now.

There is no way I would be able to do something like that, not to my pet, ever... You should be more cautious when you get into a car the next time around...

She was about 15 or 16 years old at the time so she was getting slow. And seeing her in pain with a broken back, I figured it was better to shoot her in the head right away than drive 30 minutes and possibly wait to have her put down by the vet.
