Carburetor issues or What?

ok here's my problem...... about ten minutes after my 87 warms and I'm crusin along, all of a sudden every time that I press down on the brakes to stop the engine shakes badly and sometimes even shuts off when I press down too fast but (like a chevy) it always starts right back up, this is becoming a real headache:banghead: cause i've been to 3 different mechanics and they never fix it just other stuff like,
>New Hoses
>Spark plugs and wires
>Adjusting the Carb.
>New Battery
My Buddy says for me to just get a new Carb. but before I go off and spend that kind of $ I wanted advice from some real experts, I'm at the end of my rope..........HELP PLS!

Replace your Power Brake Booster.

If you doubt that diagnosis, remove the vacuum hose from the power brake booster and cap/plug it. Step on the brake pedal all day long and see if the engine stumbles. If you can currently get the engine to do the stalling while just sitting at idle, you can test the theory without even moving.

Remember that if you drive it in this manner, the brakes will operate just fine, but will require a lot higher pedal effort to stop the vehicle.

Or very temporarily clamp a pair of flat-jaw vise grips on the hose and check it out. This is best done in the driveway.

it could also be the tcc solenoid, but that is unlikely.

Not likely as this will cause an engine to simply want to "shut off" when the car gets close to stopping, and it will make braking the car more difficult.

His issue is when he presses the brake, which to me reveals a leaking diaphragm in the booster assembly. Press the brake - huge vacuum leak.
