hey guys
we have a 98 voyager and something weird happened today going to drop my son off at school and at the lights releasing the brakes and pushed the gas but it wouldn't move like it was still on the brakes. it wouldn't move so i shut off the car and try it a couple of times then finally worked it has happened randomly through out the day. any suggestions?

Did the engine rpm race up as if you punch the gas pedal with the gearshift in park in your driveway, or did it load up like you punched it with the gearshift in drive with the brakes on? For the previous I would suspect the transmission. For the later I would suspect brakes.

Check the transmission fluid level. Have you changed the transmission fluid and filter lately? Are you getting a service engine or ABS light. Are you sure the parking brake was released? Verify brake operation with the front on jackstands and rear wheels blocked.

Probably a brake caliper sticking or perhaps a rear brake. If it happens again try puting it in reverse just briefly, move the car a foot or two backwards and see if that releases it. If it is a caliper, you'll probably have to replace it.
