Hi,
I have a 1994 Cutlass supreme 3.4 DOHC that wont start.
It cranks once and then dies.
I tested the battery it was dead so I changed it.
Still wouldn't start.
So I thought it may be the starter checked it I have 12volts accross the solenoid.
I thought maybe the engine seazed up crossing my my fingers I was able to turn the enging with a small ratchet on the Harmonic balancer. So I figure its not siezed. I have checked all grounds. All 12 volt connections all seems ok but still the car cranks once then dies and it seems like the battery is dead.
test the battery under load and its ok.
Any Idea's what to look at next would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Frank.

Look at grounds at the cables and chassis also, did you go one full revolution of the engine manually?

if your saying it starts then dies, i'm in the middle of a problem on a 94 lesabre that is related to the vats (VEHICLE ANTI-THEFT) system

Sounds to me like your starter is drawing too much current. If it sounds like your battery is dead when you try to crank, it's got too much draw.
