I've diagnosed my stall-no hot restart problem as the CPS underneath the harmonic balancer. As long as I keep it hosed down with water, the car will idle indefinitely. Let it get hot, and the car dies in 4 minutes. Good fuel pressure.
My question is replacing it. From reading this very informative forum, there seem to be a variety of CPS versions, depending on year and engine. Typical manuals aren't much help. Is this sensor one that needs alignment, special tools, etc? If so, I'll let the shop do it. If it's a simple bolt-in, I'll probably try it myself. TIA.
