First off, condemn something you don't understand...these cars are a million times more sophisticated cars than Hyundai's...

Second, the jump car has to be running. Give the battery a good 5 minutes to catch it's breathe, so to speak, then try. If the battery is completely flat, there's a lot of electrical components it has to power. This is usually the general consensous with any vehicle you are jumping and if you aren't doing it then I can understand why you call my BMW crap!

And third, which model are you trying to start? It's possible the anti-theft is preventing you from starting it, but I can't tell you for sure if you don't tell me which car is which and what has what...

P.S.: I'm not getting offended at you calling my car junk, everyone has their likes and dislikes; I get annoyed at ignorant people who make comments such as this...

In my case it was a dead alternator that left me non-running. I could jump start but as soon as the jumper came off she died. If you do get her started, do a test #9 on the OBC to see alternator output (or put a voltmeter on the B+post and ground) you need to see at least 13.5 VDC on the alternator. Not familiar with hidden OBC codes, email me lazybears2@cox.net and I will send the file.

Might not be the same as your's Bear, but this might be a bit easier...

http://home.iae.nl/users/bts/obc.htm

To do Test #9, you have to push both the 1000 and the 10 buttons at the same time. Then press the 10 and 1 button to get 09 then press S/R.

You have the same Hidden OBC test file that I use.
