1998 dodge 1500 light problem

Hi,
I have a problem with my reverse lights on my truck. When I put the truck in reverse the lights do not come on however when a hold pressure on the shifter toward the park the lights come on. Does anyone have an idea of where to look for an adjustment? Thanks :banghead: Karl

Theres a contact mounted on the steering colom and one on the underdash you should be able to see it if you look underneath there. when you move the shift lever the one on the colom moves into position. check it out.
