I have had more Chevy trucks then I can count, and changed every gas filter BUT I can not find the filter for my 2004 sliverado z71 5.3 . Is it possible Chevy did not put filters on that year???

did you check inside the frame rail near the back of the cab on the driver's side?

I'm pretty sure on 2004 and up Silverados, GM put in lifetime fuel filters into the fuel sender unit inside the tank, pretty much making it a non-servicable part. Also in some of the '04 Manuals it will say the truck is equipped with a replacable fuel filter, this however is a misprint.

Mine (2002) has 2; one in the tank, and one in-line in the location previously described.

It's non-serviceable in the fuel tank.

That's funny, I was crawiling aroudn under mine a while back, and it definitely has one along the frame on the drivers side, maybe 2 feet away from the tank. But, mine is the 4.3, so that may make a difference.
