how much boost can i run?

does any one know how much boost i can run on a completely stock 1983 2.3L mustang gt turbo, the car has 210 thousand klicks on it. stock im running 10-12 psi. if any one knows a 100% safe boost pressure let me know

Wow that's impressive for a STOCK GT Turbo to have that many miles. That engine should gone thru atleast one rebuild, or mayby even two. I remember working on those all the time. Had issues with the seals for the turbo's. I can't remember how many of those I worked on had fire shooting out the exhaust....

no man it hasnt been rebiult once the guy i got it off of was the original owner he said he had never rebuilt it or had any problem with the car and he raced it around alot

I did research on 2.3 turbo engines because I was gonna swap one into my mazda pickup. The turbo's and manifolds were known to be unreliable above the stock boost numbers so I would get a T3 turbo and try to find a newer turbo manifold. You could just make your boost more effective with a intercooler.
