97 Civic A/C Problems

This is for my mother. She has a very, very well used 97 Civic with two hundred something thousand miles. The first A/C problem started with the lowest fan speeds not working. Now there is no A/C period. My father and I intend to fix it, only if my mother doesn't decide to get someone else or finally buy a new car (She wants a large car, 5+ passenger, and 50 mph, LOL! It doesn't exist and she doesn't believe it.) We need a schematic for the A/C system because Hondas, unlike domestics, have tons of sensors and a rather seemingly complex A/C system. Please help me find the right schematics for this car so I can get my mother off of my father's back! If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!!! Did I mention that this car has been half totaled a few months after it was bought new? It was the back half 14k car with 7k damage. She has a problems with progressively wrecking cars everytime she gets a new one. She even wrecked my dad's pinto when they were dating. She really needs a tank, but then other's lives would be at greater risk. Maybe they could use her in the Army!

The blower only works on the speeds 3 and 4. There is no sound, no smell, nothing but hot air. The A/C light comes on, but there is no A/C. It has been filled with Freeon, but still does not put out cold air. I don't know if the A/C compressor even comes on.

well i would say the first thing u gotta find out is if the compressor is kicking on or not .. with the car runnning and the hood up .. by hitting the ac button on and off you should hear the compressor kicking on and off .. the system also had pressure switches .. so too little refridgerant will cause the compressor not to kick on and sometimes the same with too much refridgerant.. i would also check all the a/c fuses and relays if u havent already .. big thing tho .. gotta know if the compressor is kicking on
