starter problem?

my 02 taurus won't turn over. the lights and radio work, but when it turn the key, all i get is clicking. i think its the starter, if it is where is it? i can seem to find it. i would like to repair it my self, but i need a guide. does any one know of a free online gide?

What you describe is often a weak battery or poor battery connections.

Do you get only a single click if you hold the key in "Start,"or a series of clicking? If a series of clicking, then I agree with Willyum. If a single click, then you may have a starter that needs to be replaced.

Which engine does your '02 have, the DOHC or OHV?
