I am replacing the head gaskets in my 2000 GTP Supercharged 3.8L and it is the first time I have used Fel-Pro gaskets. I have alwyas used Corteco without any hitches. However, when i was about to install the gaskets I noticed there was no left or right. The arrow on the gasket points to the front - but its the same for both. For the left side I have to turn over the gasket to fit.
Is there a top and bottom as I am acustomed to with gaskets. Reason I ask is that when looking at the gaskets, the underside has no writing and the top do, and it also has more of a steel edge on the underside versus the top. Part number i have is 9089PT (V6 3.8 FEL-PRO Part # 9089PT ). Unlike the engine VIN code K which has a left and right part# 9917PT and 9917PT.
The engine shop where i normally check these things is closed this weekend so I cannot check - hopefully one of you guys will be able to tell if I have anything to be concerned with. There is definitly a difference in the two sides of the gasket.
Here is a link to the Gasket picture: http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/fel-9089pt_w.jpg
I can take a pic with my camera to show you if you wish.
Thanks

For anyone else doing head work, I was told by en engine specialist it don't matter which way I put the gasket on as long as the arrow points towards the front of the engine. Although I will stick to Corteco Gaskets from now on.
