tachometer false reading-500 hi- how to fix??

I,m in foreign territory here ya'll. Hard to drive it now; too distracting. Help please lol
I put s new APN header and flowmaster 40 on it the other day. when I got home in idle I punched it to about 4000 rpms and when the tach came down it read 500 high and won't go down. I pulled out and cleaned the guage cluster connections and it's still readin' 500 high. Any way to fix short of guage cluster reolacement. I don't know where to find an OEM tach. out of ideas here.

anyone?? Iwanna take the guage apart but I don't know how to clean it and I don't wanna screw anything up. any help greatly appreciated lol
