hmm... transmission advice

here is the dilemma:
My poor, poor 96 jimmy is not getting any younger, and with the odometer oh so close to 160k I figure she'll need a new transmission within a year. I love this truck to death and plan on driving it into the ground multiple times... however I also really, really hate automatic transmissions. So, since I'll be doing the swap myself, whats the extra work required to convert it to stick? it's got 4 wheel drive, if that will make any difference. other than perhaps some minor body work, and the obvious like putting in the clutch, are there any other hazards to look out for?
