Headlight Installation

I've got a set of new headlights for the lumina ('99 LTZ). I was just curious how serious the "disable airbag" warning is with this application? On my older lumi' I wouldn't hesitate to change out a headlight, but the airbag has me concerned. Should I disable it? How do I do that? thanks, gw84

If you are worried about this, unplug the sirs fuse for 10 minutes then work on the car.

thank you. just wasn't sure if it was ABSOLUTELY a necessity. I've asked a couple of people and the general response is that it isn't necessary.

well I got them installed and I think they look alright. No trouble with airbags...what a shocker right? Another question: These headlights were brand new, should they need adjusting? Right now, when they're on dim they seem to point slightly low and to the right. High beams look high and to the left. Is there a way to correct both of these?

If the entire housing was replaced they will need aiming.

thanks. I got a set of the euro "black" headlights (they have black on the inside instead of silver, and a clear exterior). I thought that possibly due to the lack of the "grid pattern" on the outside, the beam pattern might be different....if that makes any sense!! I just assumed that because they were new they would be perfectly set....I will adjust them. thanks again!
