Will be a better overall car straight from the factory. It will weigh a bit less, have better weight balance and handling. Another advantage will be more torque. Even if Nissan uses the 3L VQ instead of the 3.5L, there will be a substantial torque increase over the 2.6L RB.

A lot of people are upset over the loss of the RB, since the new VQ engine cannot be tuned to the same extent.

In other words, no. The VQ isn't as strong as the RB because it is an aluminum block, open deck engine. The RB has an iron block with a closed deck. That is why tuners like Veilside were able to tune it to nearly 1400hp.

The VQ however, is lighter than the RB and promotes weight savings in the chassis design as well. This can make up for some of the ultimate tuning potential the VQ lacks, since the R35 GT-R can be a much better handling car.

I just heard that the skyline will no longer be produced in japan becuase of strickter emission laws...along with the RX7 too.

They already stopped producing both cars last year. The R35 GT-R is already on its way. Mazda has given us the RX-8 as an appetizer for what may be a new RX-7.
