emmision warning?

:screwy: Hello all, i have an 03 lsV8 engine has been running fine, but an emmision warning light came on...any thoughts? thanks in advance

Did this happen shortly after you filled up with fuel? If so, remove and reinstall the fuel cap.
Swing by your local auto parts store and ask them if they can read OBD-II codes at no charge. If so, have them read the codes, get the code from them, and post it here. The code should be in the form of Pxxxx where each "x" can be a number from 0-9.
There are many emission-related components that could trigger the warning light. It can take up to three drive cycles to reset the indicator after the problem no longer is experienced unless the codes are cleared using the scan tool.
