Ok, i was doing some thinking and im trying to get my car to pick up a fair amount of power by keeping it under 500 bucks. assuming i can do all the instal myself, tell me what you think about this.
AEM Cold Air Intake
Venom 400 Perfomance Control Module
Advanced timing 16-18 degrees
How much do you think this would help. And in particlular has anyone use this venom 400 before? Does it live up to its 25% hp increase promise? or come close? And would this have a + or - affect on advanced timing (if there is an affect at all)
i would really appreciate any input on this at all

why not get cams. for only $400 you can get 15 hp. thats more than an intake and an exhaust and cheaper. i never heard of anyone using that venom 400 and 16 degree is alot, i though cam gears only went up to 10 degrees.
but i know for sure the intake is a good purchase

if the timing adjustment is done via an electronic module, it's spark timing, not cam timing (on a honda anyway).

AAAGH NOOO. DONT'T GET THE VENOM 400!!!!!!!!
Here's why (http://www.spswebpage.com/tech/free_performance.html)
Too summarize, it tricks your computer into thinking that the throttle is open wider then it is so the computer adds more fuel into the mixture. So, you can spend $300 so that you don't have to push the gas pedal all the way to the floor. You should definetly read the article.
As far as the CAI you should see a gain of mabey 2-3hp. I think civickiller had it right when he said you should go for a cam upgrade. Or mabey even nitrous.
just NOT the venom POS.

Yeah, I would have to agree with the others, Dont get the Venom. The Intake wouldnt be a bad idea, and if you are a sound person (like me), the intake sound is very cool.

in order to get 15hp out of a cam it would have to be a harsh lobe grind, when u get a harsh lobe grind every and all mechanic will tell you to upgrade springs if not dual springs to turbos, upgrade valves and retainers which gets rather expensive. Unless you did it the bootleg way and just through it in there. I wouldnt buy anything I cant program, I am not familiar with the venom400 but to my knowedge u cant self tune it...
