he forgot RX-8, GTO, Solstice/redline, FC.

And no the FD motor is not bullet proof. They are self destructive motors that unless the reliability mods are done they wont last you very long.

theres already a list of cars on this site. Not to mention there are cars that should be on the top 10 that u forgot like the Mustang and Camaro i realize drifting started in japan but theres no rule that says u need a rice burner to drift. Thats the best part about drifting its more about the driver than the car. I think i would kill to see someone drift a custom 32 ford hotrod at d1 though lol.

AMGalltheway

.. I think i would kill to see someone drift a custom 32 ford hotrod at d1 though lol.

that would rock

or get a classic benz and seriously mod it as you would do with any drift car get a modest 200-300 hp/tq that would be the crap

midgetracing28
06-20-2007, 06:25 PM
oo man especially one of the old diesel benzes lol. imagine that shit sideways with white tire smoke and about twice as much black smoke rollin out sidepipes lol :iceslolan god that would be kick ass actually no one would ever be able to foloow u close or they wouldnt be able to see lol. Is there a rule or soemthing that says u cant drift trucks? i mean i had a old ford 4x4 with a lift and 35s and that 460 would put that truck sideways with barely any effort..... all the lil hondas would be shaking if that thing was chasing em down

AMGalltheway
06-20-2007, 06:36 PM
i dont think i would be able to put a truck sideways fraid it tip but yeah even if it was just a crowd pleaser a diesel benz drifter putting out black and white smoke that would be the crapping bomb

midgetracing28
06-21-2007, 11:53 PM
tip? i take it u havent drivin many trucks. my last pickup had a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tall tires with a 5 speed transmission. it was built for mudd but you could hang it out sideways all day long and it would pull right of it. the only problem was new tires were $200 a piece and that got old after the second set.

AMGalltheway
06-22-2007, 08:12 AM
im still thinking of big huge diesel drifters
what kind of truck do you have?
and i havent driven any modern trucks lately just my big huge family van that was new in 92

You know the original poster of this thread sent me a PM saying RX-8's arent good for drifting because the throttle response sucks, uhhhh that sounds straight out of F&F3 where the chick was saying there is something wrong with the throttle respose....Has he never heard of Rod Millen? Granted rod is using a swapped motor, but it is still an RX-8. Also there is Tsuchiya who drifted the RX-8 easily with no complaints in his best motoring video.

Ah yes, the Fast and the Furious, the fountain of knowledge for all modern car enthusiasts...

P.S. gotian: 2 thumbs up for the RX-8!

Thank you, and I was telling him that I own a RX-8 and I would know first hand how the car takes to drifting and hard corners. If this guy tested one for that maybe he got a base model where he wasnt able to turn off the traction control.

I cant do it with the truck i got now ...believe me I tried lol its a 71 ford f250 i bought to restore and just havent gotten around to it yet so its still got a straight 6 and 4 speed. my last pickup was an 87 ford f150 with the lift and all. I dont really like newer cars to much electronics. If yall think drifting is fun u outta check out what i race go to www.bringingitlive.com (http://www.bringingitlive.com) and watch the figure 8 races

Evo? Cavalier? Scion? Why would you think those would be good? FWD, AWD, unless you're F&F 3, go rwd

Dyno247365

A good place to drift is an indoor karting track, the surface is so slippery that the kart fishtails whenever you apply full throttle. I'm right because the definition of drifting means to break the traction of the tires...and there's almost no traction at an indoor place.

AMGalltheway
06-24-2007, 07:41 PM
yeah but most tracks that let you drive their carts will not have carts good enough for that

i got my ex's truck sideways. well, sort of. i gave to too much throttle turning onto the highway and the tail swung out about a foot.

I've done that before, but I wouldn't drift it intentionally, mine is too high to drift without tipping over.

must be really high up there or a short bed b/c i had a long bed that was alot of fun drifting around the bad part is finding good winding roads in southern iowa. so half the time u just have to settle with snow cover and intersections.
