Wrecked civic

I recently had a stupid spell and sold my 94 Integra LS. At the time I wasn't working so I was getting behind on bills. With gas prices going up I really regret it, so now I'm looking for something else. My dad came across a 99 civic...not sure which model dx,lx, si(I wish), but anyways, it has front end damage. From what he tells me, it needs a hood, passenger fender, bumper, and radiator fan. He says he can get the car for $1000.00. It is a 5spd coupe with 150k. Other than that I don't know any other details. I hope to get some pics tomorrow so I can see the damage and see if I want to buy it. I am just writing to ask if anyone thinks this is a good or bad idea.

Check the radiator support and sub frame. Make sure the actual chassis is straight and it's just body damage or else you're in for a tire-eating nightmare.

ok..just found out the car is a hatch and the frame is not bent. My dad's friend who is a paint and body specialist checked it out and told my dad he would buy it if we didn't. Well my dad called me and said he closed the deal for $800. He already picked it up and took it home. In the mean time his friend will be removing the hood, fender and bumper for me. I will just bring it home and order the new parts and see where it goes from there. After buying the car, I will only have about 1.5k to make it look good, so if anyone has any ideas on what I should get let me know. Once I have saved more money, I know I will be doing a swap and turbo, but that will come maybe early next year
