04 Cavalier-Odd color on dash and radio

Just got our 04 Cavalier and the one thing I noticed on the dash(black interior)and part of the steering wheel(where your left thumb rest's)is there is a small area that has a white cloudy look to it. I have seen this look before on a 2000 Neon that I had. I put a hood bra on the Neon and after a period of time(not long)the paint under the bra would get cloudy look to it. After reading up on this this was a common problem with those bra's. I took it off and within 3 weeks the cloudy look disappeared from the paint. I have never seen this happen on the dash of a car before. I don't know that this is related but the face plate around the radio is fading real fast. Now this is an easy fix. I had this happen on another car and all I did was to mask it off and I painted it with flat paint and it looked better than new. The dash has me puzzled. Could it be that you can't use a Armor All type product on the dash?
