I have a 2000 Crown Vic P71 ex-police, the tranny won't shift into 3rd or OD, so I was told by the mechanic that it needs a new trans. I am looking for a used one, I went to www.car-part.com (http://www.car-part.com) the problem is it lists 3 different transmissions and I don't know how to figure out which one my car has.
Please help.
Jim

When I asked the Mechanic, he said it's AODE trans and gave me a bunch of #'s off it. But when I ask salvage yards they say I need to know the ID and it's one of these:

Police, ID XW7P-BA
Police, ID XW7P-CA
Police, ID YW7P-AA
Police, ID XW7P-DA
I copy & pasted this from the car-part.com website. This is the same code the salvage yards ask me for, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.:frown: Maybe they are all the same?

Anyone familiar with these ID #'s?

It could be worse. I went to car-parts and for my 2003 I get 16 different options.
