Engine noise

I got a 1993 lumina APV 3.1 makes a loud noise in engine so i took oil pan off and took conecting rod caps off bearings where bad replaced them lasted about 5 min then started again. ? is do i replace crank and all bearings or is it something else ??? :banghead:

What kind of noise is it, i ping or clanging a clunk a knocking is it repetative? does it get really loud? describe it as best u can.

3.1 are reknown for developping a piston slack knocking...almost a trade mark. It just sounds as shot connecting rod bearings . This has absolutely no consequence on safe and reliable engine operation...but it is really annoying and something you would not want others to hear for fear of comments.....
the 3.0 engine used in former Taurus had exactly same problem.

It clangs all the time and is always loud sounds like its coming from bottom end
