Hello, I have a 2004 Rio with 54K miles runs fine never had a prob with it till this morning. I left for work stoped at a vendor ran in cam out less then 5 min and it would not turn over. I could not even get a door ding to go off.
I check the batery cables I checked all the fuses.
I called a someone they came and gave me a jump and it turned over but I did not have all eletrical back. No radio, No dash clock and the stragest is The car would not go into gear. I had to take the cap off stick a small rod down into it and manuely over ride the gear to get it out of park so I could get to work.
Neather one of the Kia dealers can get me in untill next week and its only Tuesday..... Any Help or thoughts?¿?¿:banghead:

Update, Kia dealer in Renton, Wa is where I took my car to be looked at. They told me $95 is what it would cost to have them look at it. I called today to check on what they found they said the battery is dead and they could not do the Diagnostics to the car untill I BUY a NEW Battery $149.99 Once I told them it was ok the change the battery they said tomorrow they will do the diagnostics.
ALSO BIG NOT FOR ALL TO LOOK INTO
My car is close to 60K miles they said RIO are bad for the timeing belt braking between 60-61K miles if it brakes you need to replace the moter. So there is another $495 to get a new timeing belt put in.

OK It was the Battery that died They are ONLY rated for 2 years and when the battery died it blew a fuse so the car would not go into drive.
So a New Battery, a fuse, replace timeing belt $737.45 At Renton Kia, In Renton, Washington
