trans am vs srt-4

i've raced a couple srt4's before and walked them pretty well, but this is the first time i've raced one since I put the tq converter in. I was sitting at a light when I noticed a black skittle pull up behind me with that distinctive hood scoop. there was a little it of traffic around so i just took off normally. he pulled up beside me but there wasnt any room to race,, there were two kids in the car who looked like they were probably in high school. from what I could tell the car sounded like it had exhaust and a BOV. we eventually pulled up to another light with him still behind me, and he threw out a couple revs. when it turned green i rolled up to about 25 and then nailed it (for traction purposes) and i could see he did the same as he was a lot closer to me than the rest of the traffic. he then pulled into the left lane and kept on it. i'm not sure if he gave up or what, but I eventually just lost sight of him, and without realizing it I was going ~125mph in a 45 :frown:. the road came to an end at a T, and i got in the left lane waiting for the light. he soon pulled up behind me and got in the same lane. I gave him a thimbs up out the window and he did the same. moral of the story is the new stall significantly increased the margin of defeat on a similar car to the one i raced before.

Nice kill, but how does the new stall come into play when you rolled out to 25 then nailed it?

Nice kill, but how does the new stall come into play when you rolled out to 25 then nailed it?

because I was only around 2k rpms before I went WOT, so when I nailed it (flashed the stall) it brought me to the top of my power band a lot quicker, kept me there longer, got rid of the dead spot between shifts, and when it did shift the rpm's only dropped to about 3400 as opposed to the stock stall speed of 1600. now granted I could have turned off my traction control and punched it from a dig, but I would've spun out all the way through 2nd gear, and have been that much closer to having to buy new tires which I can't afford.
