Power steering

My power steering squeels like crazy...any ideas why? The pump is new, the pulley is new, the belt is new (and its one I got at the dealership) and the belt is tight. I sprayed some belt dressing on it, helped a little. Any ideas?? Thanks!

You're sure it's not any of the other accessory belts?

Thanks for the reply, yeah, Im sure its the power steering, when I turn the wheel, the squeel gets worse. I replaced all belts at the same time, and ever since then, when the car is cold, it squeels like crazy....So much for preventative maintainence. Plus, its out of warranty so I guess I should have expected it to start falling apart.

Hmm. My belts only squeak when they're not tight, but if it is I don't know what else could cause it. I asked about the others because I thought my power steering belt was squeaking when it was actually the lowest one by the water pump etc. (which is also the hardest to get to). You might check them all just to be sure, and make sure there's no play in the power steering belt. If the belt dressing helps it's probably slipping.

Thanks for the reply...everything is tight...all belts are new and tight. I dont understand...why does it seem like the more you try to take care of things, the faster they fall apart?? The squeel is really embarassing when you turn the wheel as far as it will go...guess my friends were right afterall...I should have gotten a Honda.
