2006 and 2007 Civic Si price differences

I feel it has come time to sell the big block and convert to something a little bit more economical. Naturally, I turned to Honda.

I have been browsing 06 and 07 Si's more than anything. One thing that struck me funny was that I could pick up a BRAND NEW 2007 Civic Si Coupe with 10 miles on the odometer for $20,800. Some of the 2006 Civic Si coupe that had anywhere from 10k to 30k on the odometer were listing for anywhere from $21,000 to $23,000.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not complaining that I could pick up a newer car with less miles for cheaper. However, I can account for the difference in prices. Is there something on the 06 that isn't on the 07. I talked to a salesman at a local Honda dealership and he just claimed that Hondas have excellent resale value. Well obviously that is true, however, a dealership would be stupid to sell a used car for more than a new one when they are almost identical. Right?

They are basically identical besides the fact that the 07 comes in a sedan also....the price difference is a but odd though.

Did you actually get a dealer quote for 20800 on the SI? If so than thats the best I have seen them go for. They do hold their value very well though. I have noticed the same phenomenon for LX and EX as well.

Well at first I was primarily looking at 2006's and all of the prices I found were from dealers on Autotrader. I actually called my local dealer to talk to him about a 2006 when he told me about the 2007. Either way, I am going up on Saturday to talk about financing and check out the car some more.
