I do not know how to get this off of the lines. I have not seen this type of connector before. my book shows diffterent connectors. I have a 94 ford explorer. the connector looks like an air compressor hose, but it wont budge like one... please helphttp://www.t-mobilepictures.com/32143473/_entry/8a38a9d01309c02c0113187e24af189a/ps/ENTRY/EDITENTRY?foneblog=1181528086825

Sounds like you have the "spring-lock" style of connector according to your description. You need to get an assortment of spring-lock removal tools to get this type of connection apart. One example of such a tool can be viewed at http://www.toolfetch.com/Category/Automotive/Line_Disconnect_Tools/OTC6509.htm

There are also round plastic versions that will work, but I've had better luck with the metal type like the link above shows. Most of your local auto parts stores will carry a tool that will work for this.
