'00 Sunfire Speaker Size

Hey everyone, just want to check on the size of the speakers in a '00 Sunfire before I go about ordering the wrong ones. :banghead:

6x9's in rear deck, 4x6's in front doors

get a an adapter to change the 4x6's to 6.5 round speakers. 6.5 is sooo much better

i even replaced the 6x9's with 6.5's with another adapter so that i have 4 Kicker DS 6.5's in all the speakers. definatly the best upgrade i have done to my car cuz i love my music and those paper speakers wernt cutting it.

I just made my own addaptors using some MDF i had

me too, except outa leftover aluminum stock we had lying around, thank god for bandsaws and roto-zips!! wont bend or rattle like those flimsy plastic ones from crutchfield

Hmm, never thought of making your own adapter with wood, is it good? Im probably gonna do that...

i wouldnt think wood would be good if there happened to be a spark.

oh yeah, hmm MDF is?

MDF is basicaly a bunch oh saw dust gluded together into a board that is stronger than wood and yes the brackets i made work good. Im pretty sure most sub boxes are made of MDF so thats y i used it

does anyone have a pic of the adapter they made? wut does it look like? (A) a rectangle, or (B) a small rectangle w/ the top & bottom of the circle coming out (lefixs link)?

sry for the bad diagrams, i scetched them out in less then a min.

B is what mine looks like and the circle comes out in depth about an inch to make room in the door panel, but if it is for the rear deck it looked like A because the speaker is bigger and it also didnt come out in depth any cuz there is plenty of room in the back.

ahhh ok, gotcha! so how far is the circle suppose to stick out on the top and bottom?

however big the speaker is is how far it will stick out
