windshield wipers wont work...2003 specta

so when i try to turn them on the arms dont move, but i can see the bolt moving. it almost looks like the arms are too heavy to move.
what do i do?

Jeesh! This is so old . . .. Sounds like the inside of the wiper arm is stripped allowing the bolt to turn. 'Prolly get some LockTite at the parts store and clean the hole & bolt good then use LockTite and should hold.

they don't strip. this is common because people are too lazy to clear the ice and snow off the glass. the wiper is not intended to hold that much weight. tighten the nut and clear the heavy stuff off first.
