how to take care of my "new" 2000 Accord

Well, I finally got what I wanted, I think :screwy:
2000 Accord EX 5 speed. It’s got 167k on it and runs pretty well. Now I need to decide what to do next. I am not much into mods, but want to keep running “forever”
Oil is just been changed so I am not going to mess with that, but next oil change will probably be a Mobil1, not sure though 5W30 I guess?
Engine is fairly clean on the inside but the engine compartment is filthy on the outside & I always keep it clean under the hood. Do I need to cover coil, wires, cap anything else special. Just wanted to make sure I am not messing up my “new” car…. :grinno:
Next I see that calipers are rusted on the outside, but did not hear that funky high peach noise from sticking calipers. Break fluid looks dirty too & I’d like to change it. I used to just open all bleeders at the same time and slowly ad fresh fluid. Is that a “normal” procedure or something else needs to be done since it’s an ABS
Clutch reservoir would not readily open either and fluid looks like nice maple syrup, so how do you change that one?
Power steering same story…
I’ll probably seafoamit it later, other then that any suggestions?

They said :uhoh: that Timing Belt and the clutch has been replaced about 40k ago... If you want to belive them

Clutch you can definatly feel it if its bad, other than that it's a guessing game.
Man I wish I have 5 speed Accord. Auto version of that model is horrible. jumpy like crazy between 1st and 2nd gear.:banghead:

Have you registered it with Honda? You should be able to see if the dealer changed the timing belt. I had a 2000 SE and I had 150k and it was just getting broken in when I was struck from behind and totaled it (just the day before I was telling my wife that I was going to get a 1/2 million miles on it - DOH!). Enjoy your car if you keep up on the maintainence you should have a lot of years of worry free ownership. I now own a 99 EX that I found with less than 50k on it. This generation of accords is really great.
Oh one thing on the Mobil1, because it is so thin you may find that you start seeing a little oil loss. If that is the case just throw in some Restore 2N1 and switch back to organic or a blend.
