1994 Nissan Sentra 1.6L TBI, Standard Tranny, 2dr

Ok I have done 5 e-tests and i'm so close here is what happened on my last 2

Curb idle

HC ppm limit:200 reading:77
CO% limit:1 reading:0.04

40km/h test

HC ppm limit:72 reading:85 = FAIL
CO% limit:0.4 reading:0.34
NOx ppm limit:550 reading:69

Here is the list of thing I have put into it

New Cat converter
Advanced Timming
New O2 sensor
New Plugs (bosh platinum 4)

I checked the EGR valve it's working and mechanics can't seem to tell me what els to do.. any ideas on how I can lower HC

Im running Regular grade fule with Guarenteed to pass formula

Maybe try ethanol/fule blend???

The mechanic said the limits for that specific vehical was LOW and not very fair for the year of the vehical. I kind of agree.. He showd me paperwork for 2003 Honda RAV4 had limit of 200 and blew 80.. I personaly think the government dosent want my vehical on the road because it's to good on gas.

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Ack! Get those plugs out of there. I've heard nothing but bad things about those Bosch +4s! Other than that, I don't have any real advice..... I don't know much about emissions...

was your car warmed up and if so for how long?

The car was plenty hot I took it for 2 hr tour before the e-test... You think maybe changing the plugs to champion and gapping them higher would make it run more lean... the mechanic said if i could get the car to run more lean it would pass the etest.

oh i also did a computer dignostic on it .. the computer says everything is working fine

having it too hot will affect your emissions, id let it cool down for like 30 min before taking your test and see if it helps

Well i'm going to try using this Octane booster called NOS.. Says on the side of the box sapose to reduce hydrocarbons emissions.. Take 30 octane gas and brings it up to 90 octane. That should do the trick hopfully
