Changing Own Oil

I am coming up on my first oil change for my 1999 roadster (bought it used awhile ago). I can't imagine the dealer will change the oil for free since I'm not the original owner so I'd like to change the oil myself. Paying a dealer to do something like change oil is not something I want to outsource. I'd like to be able to reset the oil change monitor in the computer myself and am wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions on doing my own oil/filter changes.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The act of changing oil & filter is very easy on these cars. You will probably find the best deals on the filters & oil(Synthetic) at your BMW dealer, believe it or not. To reset your indicators, you would need to buy a reset tool, they start at about $50 for the most basic ones. Good luck.

You drive a BMW in Colorado? You should be able to afford to have it done by a dealer.
