I am currently in negotiates with my local pontiac dealer purchasing a 2005 Pontiac G6 GT. I am looking for a SAFE vehicle, so I want side airbags and onstar. The dealership luckily had one on the lot. It is a 2005 G6 with side airbags and onstar...... at least that is what the build sheet says......
My question is: The car doesn't have airbag logos on the seat or above the b-pillar, as the 2007's do...... Does this vehicle actually have side airbags or is the build sheet wrong?????

Normally they should have some type of SRS or Airbag written on the seat for side airbags and for curtain airbags on the pillars of the vehicle. One way to check if the sheet is correct is have teh VIN # run it normally tells you if it has the extra options or not, especially through insurance companies. If you are doubtful on this the dealer should be able to show you that it does exsist. Good luck!

Well, I purchased the vehicle without 100% confirming the vehicle had it, but I did get a copy of the service records and it does not show that the seats were replaced. The build sheet is vehicle specific and mine SAYS it has them. I guess worse case scenerio is that I get in an accident and they are not there..... then I will be able to sue GM for fraud.... and I am not a sue happy type of person... just want to get what I pay for!! Any other info would be GREAT!!!

Well first off, hopefully you will never have an accident thats bad enough to cause the airbags to go off. But in the event that it does your better plan of attack would be the dealer versus GM itself. Since the car is not brand new the dealer is the ones that produce the facts sheet not GM. PLus you may get better results. On the 2005 and 2006 model year i believe the side airbags were only optional since mine doesn't even have them and I got a fully loaded GTP. I'm unsure if the 2007 has them standard or not at the moment. Well on that note Good luck with your new car and i wish the best.
