Anyone know whats involved and included with the stock alarm system. Does it uses the same key/keyless entry for the security also. And how much do they run.

Not sure how they work in regards to keyless entry but, they cost around $600. When I purchased a 2001 330CI, the dealer told me it wasn't worth getting. They said out of 100 BMWs' sold from their dealership, they may sell 6 alarms.

Keep it comming.........

I am a car security/audio installer and know the difficulty on these newer BMW and don't wan't to screw up the good warranty they got for the 03's. I installed on the older models from 1999 and earllier and installation was easy and uses a seperate Alpine remote (had no keyless entry on key). Was simple plug and play with an external Alpine siren. So I was woundering if its like that on the 03's.

Yes, it takes advantage of the current keyless entry on the key, installation is pretty easy, car is pre-wired (it comes with instructions). The only catch is that the dealer needs to us a computer to program the alarm..MoDiC I believe is what that computer is called.

$249 thats it? But the bad thing is no shock sensor but that I can add on. But I you purchase the alarm myself won't you think it will come with installation instruction and how to program the remote?
