i have a 94 mustang cobra, i just put a 308 with a e303 cam. when I have the car running and get the car warmed up, and turn it off, then start it, the car just shuts off, guy at ford said to put a new idel air control sensor and tps sensor on it and I did but still does it lol. i talked to someone today and they said the stock computer in my car is not set up for the cam i have, and that i have to put a msd box and fan rely swith on too. he said i have to get a computer out of a fox body mustang for it to work... is this true that i have to do all of this.. could someone please help because i don't know what to do.
thanks for your time, and help

I think that you should look into getting a PMS. One thing I can tell you for sure is that the computers in the 94 and 95 do not take well to mods. The PMS will allow you to compensate for mods like cams, heads, injectors, different mass air flow meters etc. The PMS is not cheap but it is the last tunning device you will ever need. I did the a9l conversion on a 94 GT I had. It worked ok for bolt ons head cam etc. The problem with it is you still eventually get to a point to where you need some sort of chip to gain full power from your mods. I would steer clear of that one, besides by the time you buy the conversion kit, the A9L computer you aren't far from the PMS.

What comes with the kit? You can pick up A9Ls on ebay for $50. I would go that route, rather than spends $100s on a PMS for a few horses.

Hey skyline whats been up.
The kit is about $475 bucks depending on what kit you get Gen 1 or Gen 2. That price includes the computer I believe. Its been a while but I think thats pretty accurate. But you will also need a MSD 6AL box in order for it too work correctly.
Kit is comprised of:
1) Pro M designed PIH harness with black box
2) correct attached BAP sensor
3) correct attached fan controller
4) correct A9L proecssor
Gen1 PIH units comes with a black box that allows you to plug the unit into the factory 94-95 harness from there wires come out of the box into another harness in which the A9l plugs into.
Gen2 PIH units doesn't come with a box it just gives you instructions and tells you which pins to move.
So when its all said and done your about $200-$300 away from the PMS. Which having used both, the PMS is a far superior tunning device. But to each is own.

If you purchase from Summit. You can get all that stuff for half that price off fo ebay. Looking at his mods, PMS is overkill. That is my point.

Very true, with his current mods a PMS may be over kill. I got by with the PIH with the mods in my sig just fine......... until the supercharger came into the picture. Even with the help of the SCT chip I still had problems. But yes with bolt ons with the PIH should do you just fine. It all depends on what your plans are with the car in the future.
