Truck: 1984 S10 Vortec 350 TBI injection
Problem: Battery has full 12V, starter only has 4V! As soon as I hook up the other 3 wires that run off of the starters positive post the voltrage drops!
Question: I know theres got to be a faulty part or a short somewhere, is there a Starter Relay on these trucks? I just replaced the starter so I know the solenoid in its good. Im wonder where else there may be a possible short or faulty part.
Thanks for any help, its apprishated.

Bad or dirty cables or cable ends connections.
Also do not forget the ground cables.

How old is the battery? If it is bad the voltage could drop signifigantly when a load is applied to it.
