Basically what I am asking is, is it worth it to buy this kit for my car with my atx transmission.

160K? You'd be better off just buying a VR4.

morph, no offense, but if i had a dime for every time someone said "just by a VR4 instead," i'd be one fucking rich man.
for the love of god, why does everybody just cop-out and always take the easy route. can you find a VR4 for $1200 that is running as good as his SL with 160k miles on it? NO. and how much more reliable is a SL/Base than a VR4? no transfer case, no crappy grinding Getrash trannies, no VCU to fry, etc. etc. etc.
hawk, to be honest, 1200 is a decent deal for all the TT conversion parts. plus you get a TT ecu. but keep in mind, you'll still need parts like a boost controller ($20-$300), AFC ($100-$250), datalogger ($35-$75). also, with a turbo FWD setup, you will always have traction problems. so if you plan on launching your car, then forget about it. but from a roll on the highway, a FWD TT car will own a stock VR4.
as for you concern regarding the compatibility of a TT setup with an ATX, several people have done it and love it. did you know that with an ATX you can build boost right off the line? brake boosting? there are a bunch of fun tricks you can exploit with an ATX that those MTX guys don't have. actually, Hotshot8792, a member here on AF, has done a TT conversion on his ATX. so you can search his posts or even PM him for details.
don't be discouraged by one or many people telling you to "just buy a VR4." if it was that easy, 1) they would have done it already or 2) are too scared to get dirty and do a TT conversion themselves.

Thank you for your honest answer, that really helps, yeah im purchasing the apexi neo safc, and im not sure which boost controller or data logger im gonna get, but thats all way up the road after the turbo is put in. I am just worried my atx transmission will go bad i have 80K miles on my car all together, so im hoping it will be able to stand at least 8psi.

if you beef up your tranny, you'll be fine. Basically, just start off with the simple stuff which is the tranny cooler and a shift kit.

you can/should be able to get newer parts for less than 1200. It may take a few months to find it but 1200 for parts with 160k is quite a bit imo. If anything buy some of the parts seperatly from different people. You probably dont want turbos with that much mileage. I went the safe route and just bought new ones.
Is it smart? Depends on what you want for your car. Is it fun? Hell yes :)

Hawk---> in case you didn't know, Zeiss has done the TT conversion to his car, and its a freaking beast. do a search for threads by him to find out more info.

if i were you i would do a little more research. if you visit 3sx.com you can see what upgraded parts you can get. for sure i know they have a metal y pipe, i hear with big boost applications the stock pops off. there are many things you could probably and most likely should upgrade for age and reliabilities sake. if i were you i would myself buy the parts new.
i understand financial holdbacks and all. i'm 17 with a medium income. but i'm also the type of person who decideds to do something and goes all out. your car will see a longer future with higher quality. life is about choices.
to make a long story short 1200 doesn't sound TOO bad.....

granny shifter, this thread is a month old. do you work for 3SX? did you also know that IPSmotorsports.net, dynamicracing.com also carry many products for our cars and sell them for a fraction of the price 3SX does! yes, quality plays a factor, but knowledge and experience are far superior.
