I Have a 1997 GP se with 153,000 miles on it.
My Gp through 3 codes and Auto zone printed a receipt with four parts on it.
Here they are:
Intake air temperature sensor
Ignition control module
coil-ignition
EGR wells
The total of these parts is $266.00.
Are these parts hard to replace. My hubby is pretty good at working on cars. I have also helped work on our vehicles.
We also bought a Haynes Repair maual.
Any help is appreciated.

First of all I would take what Autozone people tell you about any DTCs after a scan and what parts to replace with a grain of salt. They are in the business of selling parts and not a disinterested party which makes any advice given questionable.

The best thing to do is post the three codes you are getting on the forum and what your driveability issues are.

BTW - All parts listed are DIY and your hubby should have no problem replacing them.

I will go and have another scan run it tomorrow.
As far as the car running, it runs just as good as ever but sometimes (since the check engine light came on) it idles a little rough only when you start it.
I cannot remember what the codes were but there was 3 that came up. I will definitely go get them again.

Should the car be ok to run and do errands until it is fixed this weekend?
thanks for the help and I could not agree with you more about auto zone.

I don't see any problems with operating the car for short period of time like doing errands until you can get to it. Many DTCs trigger the SES/CEL light and the code is stored but do not prevent driveability where the car is dead in the water. However, I would try to get the issue(s) resolved as soon as possible. Good luck.
