Hi 1988 town car 5.0
We replaced the valve cover gaskets> Now the engine is blowing smoke back by the fire wall by the intake bad. When you give it gas it Boggs down and won't pull itself. Could a leaking plantom gasket cause that problem? Thanks Danny

Hi the problem was the CADS were bad and the junk in them went back to my muffler and plugged the exhaust up. Causing it to shift bad and bogg out and die.Cost to fix the problem $70.00 . Thanks for all the help. Danny

PS the car had 127,000 miles on it. Thought i would give miles when my CADS went bad.

Hey Danny,
Nothing to be sorry about. You said nothing wrong and I think it is interesting to see the different idioms from around the country.

I was just trying to add a little levity to the board. Sometimes we have so much trouble trying to locate a problem, trying to fix the problem, paying to have the problem fixed and being with out transportation that we become extremely frustrated and need a little smile to cheer things up.

Didn't mean to offend you,

Bearfoot/Stan

By the context of his post it sounds like the catalytic converters but I don't know how they come up with CADS.

Yes I ment catalytic converters every time I say catalytic converters someone calls them CAD's. so hell if you do and hell if you don't.
On a 1988 town car it has like two catalytic converters on each side. well I cut off the back one (beside the transmission) on each side replaced it with an exhaust pipe. Other wise I cut the catalytic converters off the car.
All the junk from the catalytic converters come loose and went to the muffler and restricted the exhaust so bad the car would not run. Danny
