I bought a new Civic EX 5spd Coupe back in April. I have been monitoring my gas mileage from the get go. Now don't get me wrong the mileage I am getting now, sure beats the heck out of the 9MPG that I was getting out of my 69 GTO that I was driving everyday. Anyway, I have 2,050 miles on this thing, and I am not getting any better mileage than 26MPG. I drive 24 miles roundtrip from work to home, and half is freeway. Whats up?

make sure tires are properly inflated... youd be surprised how much tires can affect MPG.

Youd also be surprised how much a right foot can affect MPG as well... but 26 isnt too far off what you should be getting... i would guess you should average about 30-32.

I average 33 MPG mostly in town. I have gotten up to 41 on a long trip on the highway. Some people say they notice a big difference with the new civics after the first oil change...

29mpg on my 07 v6 Accord. I'd imagine you'd be blowing me out of the water with the Civic.

i'd bring that up with your dealership. you should be getting at least 30mpg. my crapy 2002 saturn with 100hp gets over 30mpg i would sure as hell hope a new civic would too lol my saturn is a pile mind you and it ticks and makes all kinds of horrible sounds so it isn't running good either.

if it's that old why don't you close it or delete it then?

because old threads are used as reference so the same subject does not get discussed a thousand times

Because we expect our members to read and follow our forum rules and guidelines... but if you want to push the issue we can take it to PM and resolve it.

so if it's here for reference to answer questions then what does it matter if ppl keep posting in it. i don't need to read rules on an internet forum cause they don't effect my life lol
