Hi ,
Could someone if they have changed the timing belt on a holden shuttle isuzu 2.0 l motor explain where the top dead centre is , the reason why I ask is the belt has broken now I would say the pistons might have hit the valves but I need to try the cheaper option. The orginal belt was replaced 77,000 km ago only to find the belts gone again.
When I look at the top pulley it has a mark on it which lines up with housing , but what the bottom end.
Thanks
Peter

What year is your Isuzu and do you know any other names it went by. I am in US and don't recognise model name "shuttle". Also, are you sure of displacement being 2.0 L? I took a look and did not see that size motor, but I did not spend much time looking since I did not know the year.

Hope this helps, it is for 85 Isuzu 2245cc 2.3 L SOHC. It was all I could find that was close. Top dead center for #1 would be when timing mark on balancer is at 0 mark on degree indicator . good luck.
